So what is your favorite deer ?

And why ?

You can pick more than one.

I probbly left out some just let me know which ones.

hey, you can hunt for hours and see many animals.... like deer, coons, hogs/pig/boars, squirrls, possoms, armodillos, etc..... but which one to shoot???

I would have to say whitetail but only because that is all I has been able to hunt. Once I have a chance at some others I may change my mind.

I've only hunted whitetails as well, but some day I might go out west and hunt muleys or something else new and strange.

whitetail b/c that is what i hunt...nothin else to really hunt in bama.

#1 Elk

Why they are just so majestic and an absolute blast to chase each fall. Not much IMO compares to working them with calls, having a bull respond vocally and in presence to your offerings. Not to mention they our outstanding on the table to boot.

#3 Moose
Much like elk they are something to get working with the call. Contrary to believe a very smart animal just being the king of the deer family not much phases them but they get a wiff of you with them big noses and you can say by just like an elk or whitetail. Hunting them in their terrain takes a lot of planning and effort, once you actually get one the work begins and continues for a long time after the shot and pictures are taken. A lot of great meat off one of these suckers and love it almost as much as elk.

These 3 are really very close in my heart.

#4 Mule Deer
Unpredictable deer, they hate pressure and are very hard to pattern after the first few weeks of sept. Fun to hunt but not in the same league in my m ind as the above 3.

First off, an elk isn't a deer, neither are moose and caribou, but they are all cervids.

I haven't hunted anything besides Whitetail yet, butI hope I can soon.
Just can't afford to pay a fortune for an elk hunt.

Of the animals above that I haven't hunted but I would love too, and are my favorite on the list, I choose the elk.

Also, when you said Sika, did you mean Sitka? Because Sitka deer are a type of Blacktail. Maybe Sika is a type of exotic.

youngguns they are considered in the deer family due to being all cervids. Do some googles and find out if they do not in fact call the moose the largestof the deer family!
