I shot Fed. .270130gr NP for deer many years and Fed. .270 150gr NPin CO for elk and mule deer.

This is a pretty old ongoing arguement about the 270. I see alot of guys who just split the differece and shoot the 140 grain bullets. I use the 130's myself.

150GR IS GREAT I quit using ballistic silvertips win.
if your a neck shooterthey go straight thru (little hole no Damage) and could loose your trophy. from250 yards of more they make a bigger hole From 50 to 150 I have no uses for them! |

One of my favorite stands is on a power-pipe line. The silvertip 130 grain short mag works great. My shots are usually 100 to 350 yards, but even at closer ranges, 150 or less, I have no trouble putting a big hole in the deer. I don't take head shots, but I will take a neck shot if close enough. I shot one a couple of years ago with the silvertip at 75 yards in the neck. It almost took the head completely off. They will do the job just fine at closer ranges.
