I have a GREAT neighbor!
My neighbor just called me out of the blue and asked if my son had killed a deer yet. He offered to let him hunt his property exclusively this year because "we have been good neighbors through the years". My boy is 13 and just got his first deer two weeks ago during the early muzzleloader season. He's going to be PUMPED when I tell him about this call. I'm gonna have to think of something really nice to drop off at his house for the holidays.

nohillbilly,
Finding private ground to hunt in Maryland is almost like trying to win the lottery. My son took the hunter safety course when he was 10 and has been trying ever since to have a decent opportunity at a deer. That this neighbor would make us this offer is really awesome. He is a hunter himself and pretty much has the deer patterned on his property. I am really excited and appreciative about this opportunity.

As much as YOU thank your neighbor, I bet it would mean the world to him if your son wrote him a thank you letter, in his own words and penmanship. Good neighbors are hard to come by, thankfully I've got a couple as well.

That is really nice of your neighbor! Definitely get him something good for the holidays and maybe he will extend the offer to you again in the years to come! Good luck.

yeah it would mean more to your neighbor for you son to think him for letting him hunt, and when he kills a deer, give him some meat.Offer to help you neighbor drag a deer out when he needs it, see if your son would mow his yard next spring and summer to earn hunting rights for next year. Little things go a long way when comming from kids
