RE: Hardest kicking gun youve ever shot
I've shot a few of the big boomers, but never anything in .416. I've shot the .338 RUM, .375 H&H, .30-378, .378 and the .460 Weatherby magnums.
The .378 without a muzzle break hurts more than the .460 with the break. The recoil of the .378 is so sharp and painful, compared to the recoil of a braked .460.
The .460 without the muzzle break, on the other hand, is truly out of this world. The difference between the .460 with and without the break?

I was 9 years old and a friend's dad took us out to check a couple waterfowl blinds, and test fire the old goose gun. 12 gauge pump with 3 inch goose loads. I will never forget that day. The gun was longer than me, and my shoulder felt like I had stood behind a cannon.

12 gauge with 1 1/4oz goose loads trying to pattern. I've heard some say the .35 Whelen kicks, but I don't know, doesn't bother me at all, like it's not an all day gun (I got the 6.5 Swede for that ), but for sighting it in for hunting season, it's fine.

mine was probably a smith and wesson model 1500 bolt action 30-06. had a steel butt plate and it freakin hurt my arm. ive shot guns that should have kicked much worse like the new englane single shot 12 ga with a 3 1/2 in mag but the 30-06 sure did hurt worse than anything ive ever shot.
