THANKING GOD FOR YOUR HARVEST?

I will always say a short prayer when I have harvested deer. Though naturally thank full, I feel compeled to thank the good Lord for presenting me with a deer.

I was asked once if I was into the indian religion? After this odd question to me, at the time. I found out that many tribes will say a prayer for thier kill and blow into the animals nose.

Any other members feel the same or have an opinion?

Every time! I'll never forget my first harvest. I didn't just say a prayer , I raised my hands in the air , looked up in the sky , and hollered as loud as I could...THANK YOU LORD!!!

I thought everyone said a quick thanks to the man upstairs, whatever their particular religion chooses to call him. I know I do.

I just ain't to sure about the blowing in the deer's nose thing......

I believe there is a greater power than humans and I always say thanks for the harvest.

I'll thank 'god' for the harvest... when he scouts out a deer, shoots it, field dresses it, butchers and places it in my freezer, then wakes me up with a venison steak and eggs for breakfast....

** More people have been killed in the name of god than for any other reason. So I have no interest being part of an extremely divisive cult.

I have always given thanks for all my kills, this year I got my first bowkill and while I was giving the deer some time I slid out got my daughters and brought them out to get her, we all three laid our hands on the deer and gave thanks. Anyone who does not beleive in a greater being is in denial of the wonder of nature.

Each mournig when I get up
Each time I see deer
Each time I take a deer
Each time I see my wife and kids
Each time my wife says I can go hunt
And at the end of the day.

Hurry up and wait.
