RE: Is this meat still good?
Hindsite it 20:20. First things first. Leaving the testicles on the deer did harm the meat in any way. Leaving the bladder in may have had some effect, but that is hard to say.
That said, having an unskinned deer in 80 degree heat for 24 hours is what ruined the meat, and I believe it is ruined. I would not eat it. Had you skinned it and allowed evaporative cooling to take place, it may have been fine, although 80 degrees is too warm. I quarter mine and put on ice if the temp get over the mid 50's

Go back to title " NEED A STATE BIOLOGIST" for some insite from
U of W.on deer spoilage I believe you should leave the skin on unless you are ready to cut it up. The skin protects the meat. But 80 degrees is way to high. The trick here is to plan in advance whet you are going to do with the deer

RE: Is this meat still good?
I am really having a hard time thinking this is a real request. I can't believe anyone would leave a deer to hang like that with it being 80 degrees outside. The deer would be spoiled. I have no doubt at all about that. I can't believe this person let it hang at all in 80 degree weather. It also sounds suspicous that they knew to add that they left the testicles and bladder in. If they knew to ask about this, why did they leave it in the deer?

Why shoot the deer if you are not any more prepared to do something with it? I doubt the cape would even hold hair if the intent was to have it mounted...........The meat is alright to eat, if you are a buzzard.

Hanging it 80 degree temps, stong odor.....I would say you have a spoiled deer on your hands. If it has a strong odor and the meat has a green tinge to it, then it is done.
