RE: Radios...is it cheating?

Redneck - Radios are legal to use in Wisconsin, but the rule is the same as some of the other states. Hunters cannot use them as an aid in taking game.

I will quit using my radios when the deer quit using their noses. That seems fair enough to me!

I don't think they are cheating, I would look at it as a safety thing, if you get hurt you can call your buddies and they can find you

I think I,m w/ the majority here
We all have the same brand were I hunt
We think of them as a safety item ,like a flashlite, climbing stand belt ect.
works well if you are going to step into a high line, pipeline w/ known hunter w/i 400-500-yrds
also helps in the tracking of a hit deer
jmo
Good Hunting!

As the others stated, they are a good safety precaution and they can aid in alleviating boredom. Just go to any PA gamelands on one of the Saturdays of any of our deer seasons and leave the radio on scan....you will see what I mean...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

As long as a person isn't using them to directly aid in taking game...ie..&quot; Hey Joe, a 6 pointer is coming right at you...&quot; then I don't see a problem with them.

in Alaska they are illegal to aid in taking game. a couple of guys were busted last moose season in Wasilla for using them. I think the difference is that you stalk up on Moose. meaning one guy would look through the spotting scope and tell his buddy where to go who couldn't see the moose at that point. however, a guy can climb a tree and signal with his arms.
