Man that is great, I do not blame you for being a proud papa, my daughters have been gun hunting with me quite a bit and help set stands and preseason scouted with me to boot. They have seen and helped in every part of a deer hunt but one, seeing a kill. They came with me this year to retrieve my first bow kill, they helped me check it, field dress it, hang it, skin it, and last but not least butcher it. I am hoping to have them with me when I make my next kill this year.

Your son looks as pleased as punch and definantly will be your hunting partner for years to come. Next will be his first kill!! I bet you will be more excited about his first than your first, I know I will be. You are doing the same thing I am doing and something that every hunter should do, passing on the tradition, be it with your kid/kids or any other newbie.

Congratulations on the deer, but more for putting that smile on the young man's face. You've got every right to be proud. Looks like he's plenty proud too. Way to go!

Thanks for all the replies. Now the only problem is I've created a monster. Since saturday all he's talked about is deer hunting. He's already got next weekends hunt planned out. The good thing is the lifetime hunting license I bought him when he was born will most likely become a wise investment.<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
