Bow question
I would like to know what the minimum poundage a bow must be in illinoisto use for deer hunting according to law. If I can pull it back I may start deer hunting with a bow.( If not i better start working out.:D lol)
Thanks, deerhunter_515 |
RE: Bow question
Next time you might want to post something like this is the archery section. I believe that it is different in different states. Everything that I have ever heard is 45 lbs. My wife can pull back 45 lbs...it isn't very hard. However, for long distance shots, 45lbs may not be strong enough.

RE: Bow question
This is from your DNR hunting regulations. "For a long, recurve or compound bow the minimum draw weight is 40 lbs somewhere in a 28 inch draw length."
So your minum draw weight is 40 lbs. I don't quite get that 28 inch draw thing though. You could almost take that as you have to have at least a 28 inch draw to hunt with a bow in your state. That can't be right though can it? Call your DNR and ask them. Paul |
RE: Bow question
