The sound of a Chain Saw is a Dinner Bell to deer.

RE: logging

My brother is a logger in north MN. He says that generally deer aren't bother much by machinery working in an area. They are more likely skiddish of people walking. I'm sure there are exceptions of some old swamp buck that stays hidden until all is quiet and it's nearly dark. But then there are always some bucks like that.
Depending on what's being logged, deer and moose can be attracted by disiduous tree tops left behind like white birch, aspen, etc. especially newer growth. In coming years the new sapplings coming up with be a real draw for deer. This is much better forage than mature tree stands for deer and moose.

I have heard that deer will pour into these sights as soon as it gets silent, out of curiosity I suspect.
