The story - I have a 155 class buck on the wall - I have waited many years for another opportunity like this to present itself! Second year hunting the property just purchased! The first year I spent scouting - watching deer on the trail cam - watching deer movement and patterning the best possible position to hunt. Two daysbefore the big boy presented himself - I viewed two other bucks that probably for another hunter would have been a successful hunts if havested - I let walk - I had a gut feeling that a bigger buck was in the area - The next day I hunted the position that I felt would present a shot at one of the bucks or a good look to see if it was a shooter! I picked a good day to watch bucks chase doe around the property - I couldn't tell if this is the one I saw the day before but he was also big enough for me to pull the trigger! He did not present me with a clear shoot! The following day - Hunting on the ground - This buck walked out of a ditch line, crossed a fence - jogged across the field and I stopped him at 25 paces - never knew I was there - I had to adjust my postion 3-4 timesbefore the shot - with a 243 I was wondering if it was enought to do the job - the buck ran off after the shot but I was confident that my shaking did get the best of me - it didn't! That is another story! Yes - I am awaiting the mount - the deer produced several links of sausage and a couple of bags of jerkey!
