RE: Ohio extra week or so
It's alright. A week of muzzleloader would be good. Don't know if the archery extention will make much of a difference. Increasing the harvest # would be good. 2 bucks per year would be great, but someone is doing a good job so I can't complain, just dream.
One hugh change they could make is with the check in. Doesn't make it any easier or safer to make a guy drag a big deer miles out of some places (public, no motorized vehicles allowed)just because it has to be checked in whole. I've contacted them about it and heard the reasons and they are just stupid if you ask me. Many places have a much better check in policy so it's not reinventing the wheel here. The last guy told me that I need to take draging them out into concideration. DUH It really is stupid.

RE: Ohio extra week or so
I am happy yet a little pissed at the same time. I work a 2-2-3 swing shift and the way my work schedule falls I have always had to work opening day since I have to work every other saturday. Well this year I was like a kid on christmas when I realized I wouldn't have to burn my vacation on opening day. So then walking around happy that I would be spending all day saturday and sunday in the woods a guy comes up to me at work knowing what my reaction would be and breaks the news to me and rubs it in!![:@] So I am happy with it but yet really not happy. I think maybe it will help out for more hunting in the first part but dont see how it will help much in the late part.

The regs aren't out yet - it's an article explaining what the new regs are going to be, before they print 'em.

I like it. Just like the other guys said, I don't think it will make a difference at the end of the season, but it should at the beginning. A couple more days to take a crack at a buck when it is still in summer patterns? Sounds good to me
