The sooner the better IMO. As long as you are sure the location will still be active during the fall/winter hunting seasons and their patterns don't change before that time.

That's right!! Our season starts in late Sept, and my stands are already in place. Well, I know exactly where my Double Bull Matrix will be sitting!!:D

I would say the sooner the better....if you have a good idea of the patterns of the deer then you should be good to go early on.....however, I will admit I have put it up the week before archery opens and I still killed them....but I usually put some up earlier and have a couple back-up options....(climbers etc.)

We are scouting new properties, picking stand site, and hanging stands now. We do it now because we also cut our shooting lanes, so in the fall all you have to do is lite trimming.
