Default Do deer eat

A question came up the other day and I did not know the answere. Do deer eat potatoes?

Here in LA it is illegal to put out sweet potatos (about the only thing illegal to put out) so I guess the answer would be yes. I don't know about regular Idaho potatos.

They eat all the tuber type crops around here. They will go after all the stuff that stays in a garden especially after the frost. They will dig up potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips etc.

I know they will eat sweet potatoes.We used to have some small ones left over after we
dug ours, so I would put them out for the deer. They didn't last long once they found them.

Wow,
Thanks guys and after reading that story I can't wait to get up to Maine I am going to plant some on my property. I never grew sweet potatoes but it can't hurt to try.
