Had to be Big Foot!!!

It wasn't a propane tank I have lived with one all my life and it has never made a sound.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I don't know who told you that but they do not let off pressure.

I got my money with the squirrels. Did anybody pick up on the clue that the noise came from near a BEAN field. Maybe it was the farmer himself. FRAAAAAAAAAAAMP............OH Boy, Gotta go change

Shaggy2,
I bet it was a Buck who just figured something was not right and knew you were there. Im sure he just gave you a big grunt. Try going back and see if hes still around. Good luck and let us know what you find. Maybe it was a big doe.

You have never heard a propane tank let off pressure. Come down to Texas in July. A good 115 degree will get them thing spewin.

Update on noice.

My brother called and indicated to me that he noticed huge rub lines down the side of the bean field up from where I was hunting and down the fence line. This was givin to me before I told him of my story and the ongoing post here.

This morning I moved my tree stand to the corner of the field. It appears that he is crossing the field in the middle. The filed is not very big so I should be able to get close enough.

After making a ton of noice this AM I figured I would leave the area fr awhile. I am planning on hunting the from the stand dawn until dusk on Sunday. I'll let everyone know. Hopefully will ave pics on Monday.

Was it windy?

I had a couple of trees rub together when I was pulling weeds out of a food plot. It sounded like a lion roaring. I put the axe nice and close.

My Brother shot a buck last year from almost straight down and hit it the spine. My stand was 60+ yards away and the noise that buck made my skin Crawl! I thought he'd hit a bear! Never heard such a noise, and would never had guessed it was a deer till I saw it. They'll suprise you sometimes.

I too am betting you heard a deer blow at you. They can be LOUD sometimes, and they can walk thru the woods without a sound sometimes too. They are typically more quiet than the squirrels here.

On a similar note, I hunt near a house, and when the fan on the outside of the house kicks on, it screeches at startup. GETS ME EVERY TIME!!! Its soooo loud, and I am about 60 yds from it, it makes me jump just about every time. Gets me in the dark too. Its funny, and I know the deer are used to it, so no big deal.
