Nice pics. I've always liked the digital cameras vs. 35mm because of the cost of film, batteries, and development. These pictures show that your not losing any clarity.

How about bear safe boxes for the trailghost and others? I know cuddeback has them, and if you put them out where bears are around, your unit could be eaten in a day.

I do not have a bear safe box but made my own out of 3/16 steel with a non acessable lock on it, the only thing you can see is the key hole. Its bolted to a tree with six inch lag bolts so the only way one would be able to take it is cut down the tree and take the whole log. I will try to get a pic next time I pull the card. The only thing you can see is the camera lense and the flash.

DougMD,

I'm not sure about the Trail Ghost, But I don't believe the Penn's Woods comes with a bear safe box.

Considering that a good portion of the US and Canada has bears on it, and they are particularly fond of game cameras, all game camera makers should sell one as an accessory!

I've never had a problem with Bears, but I have heard they like the film cameras because of the film smell. Why do they like the digital?

It may be the film on the 35mm units. However, they might be attracted to the plastic smell from the casing on the digital units. Bears are curious creatures and eat/bite things just to see what they might be. My point is simply that it isn't worthrisking $400 between camera and memory card if you putup your game camera in bear country.
