Mauser ,all them deer are not dead because I live next to a restricted game preserve and no hunting allowed. I go threw 1200 lbs of feed a year trying to keep them away from my yard shrubs and fruit trees. Sometimes they bed down in my backyard and buck rubs and scrapes within 25 yards of my windows. The areas within 5 miles of me where I can hunt are all shot out.Thats the problen with a blanket management program. Not every area is the same. One problem they will never solve is public hunting areas will always be bad hunting compared to private regulated property.

Hmmm....where was your crossbow? In the shed too? ...provided you had a regular "bonus" doe tag left and not the muzzleloader license...
...you saw more than I did yesterday. I "heard" on deer go down before it was light and cross over into the game preserve..but that was about it. I will say that I did hear more shooting yesterday than I did all of the rest of the late season.
I guess everyone finally gave up on shooting a buck.
