The Rut! That's when they get stupid!

I voted rut because I think this is true for the majority, but I killed my largest deer pre rut and almost allof mydeer post rut.

I think the rut is the best time because they are out at all times of the day chasing does. And they are to busy with the does so they get careless or "stupid". Bucks from all around your area are traveling through so you have a better chance of getting not only the big buck in your area but also the big onesfromareas around you.

During the rut! Catch them chasing after those does.

I would say any time i can get out, time early rut, morning thru mid day. Rich

I would say to kill a specific buck your after the pre rut.

I believe pre rut I find that they react to calling more(rattling etc)
