I have one and it works great. First understand that your not going to have the thing on and be walking through the woods. I have never had a problem with the wind. It works great from a treestand or on the ground. I can hear turkeys that wouldn't be able to hear without it. You can pick on deer breaking limbs and walking on leaves also.

They are all a waste of money. I have spent $20 all the way up to $150 on those devices. All I heard was wind, leaves and the trees creeking.

I recommend taking that money that you would normally throw away on such a useless device and buy something that will make your tree stand more comfortable. More comfort = less movement = more deer.

I have the power muffs becuase hunting with a pistol hurts my ears when I shoot. From what I've noticed is that if you turn the volume up too high, you pick up all sorts of extra noise you don't need to hear. Keep it at a normal level and you can hear things crisp and clear.

I can hear turkeys usually one or two ridges away, and It also helps detect the slightest twig break.
