Just got a mount all finished up. I mount my own deer, which saves a good amount of money for myself, and also gives myself the satisfaction of the end product. This is my fiance's very first deer she ever killed, back in the 2004 season. He was a fighter and had multiple scars and bald spots, especially big scar above his left eye. But the wounds also gave him some character. This is a wall pedistal form, which we gave a relaxed look with. Here are some pics.

Very nice buck and good job mounting it.
...I guess he was a fighter. I shot a deer back in 2002 that had battle scars all over him. When the taxidermist and I caped out the deer, we found that it had a hole in the top of his head that had punctured his skull, and the tip of another deer's tine embedded in it. I think those old fighting bucks have alot of good character to them.... nice job and keep shootin those big old bucks
