scent glans........

Hey guys i was wondering if youcan tell mewhere the scent glans are on the deer. Cause I knowthat when you kill a deer youneed to take out the glans or else all of the meat will turn bador something like that. I don't know how soon i'll get a deer since I have a bow butwhen I do I would perfer that the meat doesn't go to waste. Thanks for any help!!!

Your talking about the tarsal glands on the inside of the back legs at the joint. It's actually not necessary to remove these...you can worry about them when you skin the animal....in fact it's better not to tarnish your knife on the glands.

yah actually a guy i hunt with after he shoots a deer he'll cut the glands off them and wear them on his boots next time he goes hunting. But no if you leave them on the wont harm the meat just take them off when skinning the animal.

there is a gland on each leg, when you hang a deer ,if you hang it head down when the skin streches on the ham between the stomach there is a little piece of fat and skin,if you feel right there you will find a pea size gland.[8D][8D][8D]

you will get a bunch of different idea's. and there all right. i like to skin my deer as soon as i get it hung up. i am fortunate to live where i hunt. so a matter of minutes after its killed its hung and skun. when the deer is still warm the hide comes off alot easier.
