But didn't find it on my grandfathers' land, found it on one of my 250 acrea hunting spot. Found it dead near the road, has 17 or 18 pts. It still had some velvet on it, so it died early. Not sure what killed this buck, but i'm starting to get worried about all the dead deer we're finding when we aren't even looking for them. Like the other proached buck we found, this buck had some potential in a year or two. He was starting to get forks, which I don't see on whitetails too often. Hopefully we're just having dumb luck in finding these dead ones, and I don't find anymore when I go shed hunting in a month or two when I am actually looking for them. Here's a couple pics of him.

i have found numerous dead buck over the years and have a tone of skulls, they alway seem to be found in the same area..but these are just from careless shots and poor tracking.

Wow kshunter, that's a shame. He's a real nice buck. Do ya think that all the dead deer that you are finding are from poachers? I would call Fish & Game if ya find another one that is fairly fresh and not badly decomposed and MAYBE they could pick it up and have it examined for some type of disease besides "lead" poisioning.

My Goodness, Do you live on deer farm and what does acreage go for in your county?
You could guide enough hunts to cover the cost of hiring your own game warden. Holy Smokes you've got some nice deer down there.
