I shot that buck in Northern Illinois! Early November 2003. It was an afternoon hunt. I had been seeing a BIG bodied deer before and after legal shooting from this stand. Had no idea of his actual size just that he dwarfed the deer he was with. The stand was in a corner of two fields in a low protected area linking two bedding areas. He came along the field edge from the South and was going to cut the corner and head East at about 80 yards. I was able to grunt him in and get him to cross the tree line at about 18yds! He went about 75yds and piled up! It was by far my biggest buck and I was so excited I just about fell out of the tree. I shot the buck below out of the same stand in 2004 and am sad to say there now sits a house about 40yds from that exact tree! Those two bucks are responsible for my nickname "Horseshoe Mazur" Thanks to Todd and Justin! As for 2005....let's just say the name did not fit!!!

It will surely look pittiful against all these extremely nice bucks, but up until this year, the best I go was a 3-pointer. I got it this year in Greene County, PA where this guy was just legal as you couldn't shoot unless it had 4 points on one side.

Please be nice!

Eemer.. that is a great buck... and like Doctor Death says... a trophy is indeed inthe eye of the beholder. Any deer that means something to you, means something to us.
Congrats.
