Sat here for ten min. trying to decide if I wanted in on this but I have to. The only thing I am going to say is that their is only one person that can say CB is easier or cheating and thats the guy who has longbows with open sights. You guys that think your doing it the hard ways and like to to make sugestions about CB hunting better look back at some of the old writings your great FRED BEAR wrote about the new compound bows and all the fancy gadgets that they use. Compound bow hunters have just as much advantage as CB hunters. The only differance is holding a draw back and what is rewarding about that? I personally am just out for meat in the freezer. If granades were legal I would be buying them right now! So please try not to turn this into a CB bashing thread.

Ain't gonna happen!
Migratory game birds is about all the Feds have control of when it comes to hunting!
As others have said, its a state-by state thing!

The federal government doesn't really have a say when it comes to state wildlife departments, I would imagine. Where did you hear this?

I dont see what the big deal is about letting crossbows be legal in all states. its just another way of takeing a deer.

I would probably buy one if I could legally hunt with one here in IL. Whats wrong with it....maybe get a longer or different season, state gets more permit revenue (if they issue xbow tags seperately).... gets me in the woods more. I can kill plenty of deer with my compound bow, but it would be a different challenge and who doesn't like buying a new gun or bow once in awhile?

I wouldn't really know what to think if this happened. I don't disagree with making crossbows legal to everyone, but I can't say I support it either. In Illinois you can only hunt with one if you have a disability. If they made a seperate season like they do with muzzleloader, or joined the 2 together then I would be all for it.

If they were to allow them to be used by all hunters during the archery season is where I wouldn't like it. JMO
