I shot a piebald deer ion Michigan, no big secret. My question is, the internet says there are 13 states that outlaw shooting of white/albino deer. Michigan being one of them.
My opinion is that this law is crap, and based on emotion and not fact.
Does your state have laws to protect white/albino deer?
Whats your opinion?
Michigan - Yes

Illinois has a law against shooting albino deer. Piebalds are ok. I don't have any in the area I hunt, although their are some about 30 miles away. I can give or take it, if it makes some of the nature lovers happy to see a white deer then I guess they can have it. Not saying that I'm not a nature lover, I am, but I think, since I'm a hunter, I understand how nature works better than a non-hunting person. Albino's are an inferior individual of the species, period!

I don't see what the big deal is. A deer is a deer, regardless of color. I know it is legal to shoot piebalds in Ohio and pretty sure it's legal for albinos too. I don't ever recall seeing anything in the lawbook that says otherwise.

That does'nt make sense to me! Piebolds are part Albino! Why would Illinoisnot let you shoot a real screwed-upgened deer and let you shoot one that's part of one?
