UnknownNew Record for World's Records Rumors?
December 19, 2005
This photo, along with a bogus email, has been sent around the globe faster than the speed of light. In it, it claims that it will score 224 B&C typical even after the droptines are deducted, which of course, would be yet another world's record. As with almost every world's record whitetail rumor, this one is false, too. We spoke to the measurer claimed in the email as having scored it, and he has never even seen this deer before. It is a very unique and interesting buck, but not a world's record, and for sure not as a typical.

The Real Deal? The Myth Resurfaces in a New Location
December 16, 2005
The buck in the above photo is currently circulating on the internet as the new South Dakota state record. The only problem - it sure bears a striking resemblance to a "buck" making the rounds last year as the new World's Record, taken in Alberta and scoring 407 (bottom photo). For the record and to our knowledge, not only are they both fake, but both the same "deer".
Trophy Watch will continue to debunk the rumors and confirm the realities so that you, our viewers, can always fight for truth, justice, and the American way!

Indiana 2005Indiana Record Contender
November 22, 2005
Rumors are circulating at a rapid rate on this great buck, calling it the new World's Record at 220 B&C. From the little information we have received so far, it appears the buck has been unofficially taped at near 200 B&C as a typical.
The current state record, a 195-1/8 buck taken by B. Dodd Porter, was taken in Parke County, Indiana in 1985.

Why does it seem that people are always trying to lie about deer more than anything else (particularly whitetails). I have seen a mule deer or two that was a lie, and a couple elk and caribou, but have never seen anyone trying to say a sheep, goat, bison, or antelope is bigger than it really is. Is there just a certain obsession that people are trying to make themselves sound greater than they are? Very interesting.

I personally believe that the people who generate these fakes are operating on the same premise as the individuals who wrote those "if you send this email to 10 people" type of emails. Attention. They just want to see how far and fast the pictures will spread through the web. All the while patting themselves on the back for creating such a "masterpiece" that is giving them the much needed attention that they lacked from their parents while growing up.....
