i think the 870 20 ga will be a great slug gun. I have used many 870s and from what i have seen they are very dependable and shoot very well. I think if you buy the 870 you wont regret it any.

Right now I use a 870 12 ga smooth bore for deer. I am thinking about getting a 870 20 ga rifled barrel. Any suggestions?

If you don't mind a single shot get a H&R ultra with the 20ga barrel. Great guns for the money. Will cost much less than another 870 with a rifled barrel and handles recoil much better because of the weight. The are pretty darn accurate to boot.

Cap, my first shotgun was a Winchester Mod.12 20ga that my father gave me in 1952 and still have it.
I took deer, hogs and turkeys for years with it. Yes a 20ga will do it, if you know how to get close!

How about the ultimate in 20 gauge rifled slug accuracy..... the T/C Encore with slug barrel? It's an awesome gun that will drive tacks! Scope her out with some serious optics and you'll have a slug gun with lowere recoil and 150 yard accuracy.
