None of the above, you can't use a centerfire where I live. I use a .50 cal inline or a 12 ga slug gun.

If I were to get a gun for up north I would probably get a .243.

Using one caliber for whitetail hunting is like wearing one set of clothes, or eating the same food over and over. Ive killed deer with, from smallest to largest:

I guess I could only vote once.My primary rifle of choice is 30-06 but I just got a 6mm Rem this year and its deadly as well. I've taken several with a good 'ole 30-30 as well and 44 mag lever action and Ruger Super Blackhawk also Ruger Vaquero in 45LC. I also have a 308 M1 Garand that I won that I'd like to take a nice buck with. What about 25-06? I'm sure there'd be a few votes for that.

My favorite is my custom 7mm. mag. but since I havent got to use it the last couple of years because my lil brother has latched onto it I voted for the .30-06 I've been using...:D

I use primarily two guns a 30-06 Ruger M77 and a 7MM Browning BAR depending on the stand I am hunting. I shot my 2 bucks this year with the 7MM, so that was my vote!

.35 remington, 30-06, 7mm rem. mag., and .300 rem mag. And next year a .260 remington for the kids and if I get the chance I hope to use it a time or two myself! As far as voting on the poll, can we make more than one choice?

I used to think the 270 was the best caliber for deer but after my daughterused this 7mm-08on her 2 deer this year,I am sold.Great caliber,accurate with 400 yard effectiverange,low recoil and with the balistic silvertips,awesome devastation with minimal meat destrucion.

Another happy 7-08 shooter here. I used the 270 for the past 9 years...but I like the 7-08 better.

I've only been hunting for 3 years now and have only one rifle Winchester 30-30. It's only taken one doe so far, but I'm probably not going to use a rifle anymore for deer hunting......the new Hoyt will be the weapon of choice and I don't think I'll bother with a rifle anymore.;)

I've got three rifles-30-30, 30-06, and my 243. I love all of them, and take them to different places, but if I am looking to kill, I take my 243. most accurate rifle I have ever owned. I suppose I am so use to it, I don't like to take anything else out.

This year I used my 35 Whelen, 270, 280, and 50 ca. M/L. I also hunt with a 243 and 308. I polled for the 280 because it's been my main rifle for the last 10 years.
