In Texas, it's against the law to take a deer orANY part of a deer killed on a public roadway.

I'd cut the rack out and would drag the deer as far as possible off of the road...

It wouldn't be my trophy, but to me these racks are a beautiful display of what nature can do, and they're one of my favorite things to look at... why let little rodents chew it up?

How do you know that a hunter removed the head? My aunt hit an 8-point the other day and 2 of her friends went and retrieved the antlers. Neither of which have ever hunted. You do not have to be a hunter to hit deer or to scavenge a carcass.

Some of the people on this forum are more hostile toward hunters than any non-hunter I know.

So much truth is boiling over in that statement...

I just got back from a short trip. On the way I discovered a car- hit wounded doe. I called the sherriff, who dispatched the deer, gave me a tag for the deer, helped me load it in my truck and wished me a nice day. I'll be weighing it on the new scales my son bought me for Christmas. But first, a nice bowl of soup, and nap before I get down to the business of dressing and processing the deer. Holidays ore wonderful!

Hey if you ruin your car you mine as well keep something and ever time you use those atlers you will think about it. But that is a bad waste went the deer just lay in the ditch.
