Default Hog trapping experience

Anyone ever catch a deer in a hog trap? I have had a trap set for hogs for a while and not caught anything, but my youngest son went to check the trap this afternoon andfound a surprise. There was a doe in it, and she was going NUTS!!! I was going to let her out butended up killing her with my Glock 17 9mm. My brother and I have both gotten pictures of this doe on our trail cameras, but the pictures are from totally different parts of our place. The doe had a deformed head (a nose bent to the right). She was about 18 months old and in pretty good physical shape. Her bottom jaw was normal, and judging by the trail camera pictures, she had no trouble eating.

Anyone have any ideas to keep this from happening again?

put a bungy cord across the door of your trap about the height of a hogs back. That seems to keep most of them out of mine.It doesnt matter what you do, your going to catch one everynow and then.

build a trap without a top on it. The hogs get trapped, the deer jump out.

Use regular corn if you want, but chunk a little leftovers from your breakfast/lunch/dinner in there with it...

Or sour it...

I never had a problem with deer or cattle once I quit using straight corn and started souring it with water and beer.
