Am I scoring this deer correctly?
Guys,
I have some questions on scoring a deer. I downloaded the form from both the Pope & Young and Boone & Crockett sites and read the instructions. It seems pretty straight forward.
Forthe buckI took this year, I came up with the following
114 gross, 109 3/8 net.
Here are the measurements
IS: 15 7/7
Beam Length: 20 1/8 & 20
G1: 3 & 4/8 3
G2: 7 &6
G3: 4 & 5 6/8
H1: 4 2/8 & 4 1/8
H2: 3 6/8 & 3 3/8
H3: 3 4/8 & 3 5/8
H4: 3 3/8 & 2 6/8
Here are a couple of pictures.
The reason I ask is this. I read all these posts about 120, 130 class deer and you see the pictures andI think either someone is off or the pictures just don't do the deer justice.
For PA this is a very nice buck and it got me thinking what it takes to get a 130 or higher deer. So I was just curious if I am missing something when I am scoring this deer or if this looks right.
Thanks for the insight.

I would honestly think you are pretty close. Here is a picture for your reference. This buck is 158" gross and 152" net. You have a beautiful buck there, and it is something to be proud of no matter what the score is. Congrats on your buck, and your right that is a monster for PA

Thanks guys. I thought I was right on. This is by far my biggest buck and without a doubt couldn't be prouder of him. I probably should have had him mounted but for a few reasons choose not to at this time.
I guess I was just looking to verify that I was on.
Deer-Hunter18, if I didn't tell you before in a post, great buck. Love the long tines.
RyboHunter, I see you are from Western PA, where abouts??
