Hello all, I went hunting today (in Va)and had big change in weather. Yesterday 50*. Today 30* with snow and high winds 20 to 30 mph. We seen 14 does while stand hunting (Blind). We seen does from 40 yards to 400 yards and each one was in a hurry to go somewhere. We have not seen Bucks chasing yet but it should be anytime. Problem today was no Bucks wereseen but the does were running everywhere. We have been in this blind many times before and I am 100% sure scent control was not the problem. It is like the does were very nervous for some reason. Do they get like this just before the bucks start chasing? Thanks Mac69

They may have been running because of the wind, or something chasing them. I saw plenty of does the first day of muzzleloader in VA, but only one buck. 18 does for the one buck; he was a decent 8 pointer, bu ti passed him up.
This past week on Friday I saw 15 does, but I also saw three bucks. A better than average 8 pointer, a four pointer, and a spike. I could not geta shot at the eight, and passed on the two smaller bucks. But, fortunately I killed the eight later that evening. Just have some patience, and if your seeing does the bucks will show themselves. Good Luck!

mac i had the same thing happen when i was hunting in ky this past weekend. we saw tons of deer but absolutely no bucks chasing. i jumped a fork horn but that was it. i'm pretty sure all the bucks around there are currently nocturnal. too much pressure.

Seeing alot of does in ohio and several smaller bucks. Nothing to shoot at. I have seen 5 does and 2 bucks just walk on by them. I have no idea what is going on. No chasing or anything, the bucks didnt even look thier way and they were still together. maybe rut off by a week or 2 this year so it will peak during our gun season next week.
