Hard to pin the rut down around here. I know it hasn't started up this way yet. Thinking last week of Nov or first week of Dec.

I figured it would be this weekend, but I saw three does Sat. evening and no buck chasing. Maybe over Thanksgiving they'll be more in the mood. It's the holidays - everyone's in a loving mood.

It all depends on which part of the state you hunt. If you hunt along the Mississippi River/Atch. Delta/Basin areas, then the rut won't start till the last two weeks in December. In general, other parts of the state will not start until the middle or latter part of November. Hope this helps.

Typically our rutis mid to late november (Right now) but I've seen small bucks scraping since end of october. I watched 2 young bucks chase a hot doe this weekend, but i'm convinced it's a little early - it should be intense over the next 7-10 days.(I'm in monroe and do most hunting in union parish). Depending on the weather, but our seeking/chasing is usually all but over by thanksgiving. Weird that traveling 1 hr east to the Miss River delays the rut by 2-3 weeks but it's true - one theory is that the doe breed later so that fawns are birthed after flood waters recede - not sure though

he went back check it the next day.. he said u swear 100 deer walked around the scent bomb and they even scraped the grown, i guess the bucks were pissed
