sleep apnea (possibly) = big bucks

Hey everyone,
I've got the craziest deer hunting story in the world! Last weekend was rifle season opener for MO and I went hunting with my uncle and a friend of his on our family land near Macon. Anyway, my uncle has a ground blind in the middle of a CRP field that is nothing more than hogpen fencing bent into a U shape with camo netting strung across it. He has a woodline to the front of him about 100 yards away and a section road behind him with a hedgerow running perpendicular to the road. He is sitting in a camo lawn chair and at about 2 pm he falls asleep. He wakes up not too long after he falls asleep with the hair standing on the back of his neck and turns around to find a 150 class, 11 pointer standing about 20 yards behind him staring him down (if the buck was a mountain lion, I think I would be attending my uncle's funeral this week). After what has to be a staredown at the OK corral, my uncle dispatches the buck with a shot to the neck afterit ran for about 40 yards (his rifle was sitting against the stand about 2 feet away when he fell asleep).
That evening he told us about the events that unfolded and after a good laugh and some chili, we allget somemuch needed shuteye. He falls asleep quickly and I can hear from the next room what soundslike a combination grunt call and snort weeze
. Does anyone think it's possible that my uncle had inadvertantly called this buck up with his snoring? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?[&:] I mentioned this to him the next day and he about lost it andsaid something about taking a shot of Nyquil before getting in his blind next year. He also said something about some other hunters kicking around in the hedgerow behind him and that could have forced the buck into his CRP field. But why would the buck be staring him down when he wakes up? Luckily he didn't have any doe-in-heat scent on him or he could have woken up that big bucks girlfriend.

You know i have wondered this myself. are deer attracted to humans snooring in the woods. many a time i feel asleep in the woods only to have my snooring wake me up and i see a deer somewhere around me shortly after opening my eyes.

It could be that when we nod off we don't fidget and squirm. Although, I'll admit thatI have shot deer immediately after waking up. Either way, these situations make fora prettygood story!

it could be sleep apnea but a word of warning sleep apnea does cause u to stop breathing periodicle during sleep and this could happed dozen even hundred of time a night, my dad has it and he went and did a sleep study and he did it 100 to 200 time an hour, and u could very easly stop breathin all together
