Default RE: When is the Rut in Michigan?

Peak rut usually refers to peak breeding. Bucks will start rubbing and scraping up to two months before that. Accoring to the deer biologists in Michigan, peak breeding occurs from NOv. 8-15 in lower Michigan. That means some does may start coming into estrus as early as October 15. there are probably does still in estrus in late December. In the UP peak breeding is Oct. 26- Nov. 5, that means some does may come into estrus the first week of October. to be sure call your state deer biologist.
