Lessons learned: avoid game wardens until I feel pretty comfortable with the regs.

Im not going to beat a dead horse here ...But the one thing in your quote caught my eye...I have been hunting in Texas since 1978andI have not found a warden that didnt want to help...I would not avoid them ...Call the local office for that county and talk to them ....Have them meet you at the property...You would be surprised how helpful they are..

Just My 2 Cents...

The manual is very clear. It is not confusing. You broke the law and now you will have to make it right. It is that simple. The laws have been like this for a very long time. If the book was confusing to you it was your responsiblity to ask questions. It is not the states responsibility to make sure you understand english.

You broke the law, you didn't look into the law as good as you thought.

I agree with texashunter1 You still broke the law and as a hunter your responsible to be sure of the regulations of your area, there are numbers in the reg books that you can call to clear up any unsure thoughts, but hey, good luck to ya

man i am sorry to say ,it but i feel mercecy for ya cause my basket ball coach got fined for baiting turkeys and the thing was that they was feeding the deer and when the second day of turkey season they was planning on taking the feeders down when they got their.but the game wardens are just looking for money and you now it wouldn't surprise me if your deer ended up in that game wardens freezer.

So you're saying your basketball coach didn't break the law? Sounds pretty cut and dried to me - he screwed up no question and should be fined. I don't understand how you would think this is unfair. As for the idea that game wardens confiscate meat for their own freezers, excellent joke dude.
