What is the best trail camera out there?
#12
I've tried many different digitals, including 2 different Cuddebacks but THE best I have found are the Leaf River models! In fact, I have sold all other trail cams and went strictly with LR DC-2 models. I'm looking very forward to adding more to my collection in '06. Great cams with the easiest controls and set-up and an excellent image quality.

I should also mention that for the price, I consider the LR models BEST BUYS. The DC-1 can be had for only $249 and the DC-2 model with LCD screen is only $269 and these prices include FREE shipping!

You can get a cuddeback off of ebay for about 300 bucks or less. I just got a 3.0 and it's a lot better than the 1.3. Might wanna look into the new Moultrie 200 cameras. I have read that they are a pretty good camera too for a lot less money.

I have a Leaf River and love it for the high quality pictures and the little LCD screen so you can view pictures in the field. The problem is trigger speed. It takes about 5 seconds to go off once it senses motion. The brand new ones manufactured after July I believe are about a 2 second trigger. While this is much improved the Cuddeback is about .6 seconds. Bad things about Cuddeback are price and no LCD screen.
