I have a H&R 12 gauge single and when teamed up with a23/4 in. Brenneke Rottweil rifled slug its a deadly combination and I killed my first deer with a H&R 20 Gauge single with a rifled slugat about 50 yards, blew the top of his heart out, your accuracy is going to depend on the slug and your eyes, they are very affordable try one out. what gauge are you looking at?

Do a search on H&R or Ultra Slug and see what comes up. They are sort of popular. I own a H&R Ultra Slug Deluxe and like it. I won't comment on accuracy yet because I have not found a load it really likes yet. I will say that 3 inches at 100 yards is pretty easy. 1 inch is probably possible if you take the time to find the right load. Mine is very accurate at 50-75 yards no matter I what I shoot out of it though.

Mine even shoots rifled slugs pretty well. It really depends on your particular rifle though.

Got two Ultra slug guns here. I shoot the 12 gauge Deluxe using 2-3/4" Brenneke Heavy Field Magnums & 3" Gold Magnums and accuracy is fantastic. My oldest son, Hoss1, shoots a 20 gauge and it is probobly a touch more accurate. He is shooting Remington 3" CopperSolids. Both have Simmons straight 4X scopes. I've taken plenty of deer with mine, most drop on the spot.

I have the New England Firearm slug gun. this is made by H&R but it has a normal gauge barrel on it, not the big barrel like th H&R. Mine is extremely accurate for a slug gun. I paid $120 for it at Wally World a few years ago, and put a scope on it. I shoot LIghtfields 2 3/4". All my hunting buddies have Rem 870's and they are always impressed by my single shot.

I have a NEF Ultra 20 ga with the rifled barrel topped with a 2-7 Redfield Widefield scope. It is a great little gun for not a lot of money.

The 20ga with a riffled barrel and Winchester Supreme partition gold slugs will shoot 150 to 200 yrds. I have a 12 ga Mossberg 835 with riffled barrel and scope. Sight in a 2" high at 100 yrds = on at 150 and 6" low at 200 with 385 gr partition golds. A good 40MM scope will help at last shooting light and early morning. I like the idea of having another shot already loaded(pump) vrs single shot. In our last hunt, my uncle shot a deer at 137yrds with slug.

I originally bought the pardner 20 gauge because it was cheap and I wanted a gun that it was ok to put in the gun rack of the quad and get a little dirty or dinged up. Turns out I love the gun, its so basic and and simple. I ended up sending in it back the factory for a rifled slug barrel. I choose the regular 20 gauge not the heavy barrel one. Again I love the sights and its very accurate. I have it sighted in with lighfileds and am confident they will work out fine. Just for kicks I actually tried some old rifled slugs, both 3" and 2 3/4 and they were right on the money at 75 yards too. I know your not supposed to shoot rifled slugs from a rifled barrel but sometimes i live on the edge ;-)
