OK why the difference?

Since their has been posts lately about deer, size, what you look for, etc. I thought I would try to put an end to a question that has baffled me for years. Why do we Canucks or Canadians say a 5 pointer and you US (american) guys call the same deer a 10 pointer? What gives? Do we like to count or multiple by 2? Do you guys like to give the whole picture in one number? What? Why do we have a division here....SAE vs metric? Bag vs.sack?

Any thoughts?

Am I ever going to get the answer to this, and solve the worlds #1 Problem<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>

Im Canadian, I call a 10 a 10! maybe its because I live 5 minutes from Detroit. Then again everyone I know calls it that way, think its just an outwest thing.

I AM CANADIAN!!!!! Oh well, if it has 5pts on one side & 5pts on the other then it's a 10 pointer.....i'm not really sure what you are talking about Skeeter.....i've never heard a buck been refered to as a 5 pointer if it has 10 points....what about bucks with 5pts on one side & 4pts on the other....this would be a 9 pointer to me....what would you call it????? Ok. I live in the west. If it has 4 on one side and 4 on the other its a a 4 point no matter how many eyeguards it has. If its 5 on one side 4 on the other its a 5x4. I always thought them southern people counted all the points so they could brag about a bigger number of points.
