I've never seen one or heard of any credible sightings in South Carolina. I do believe, however, that they do probably exist. The history is to long and the sightings to extensive to discount their existence. But, I feel that if I were on stand and one walked out onto the corn pile and started eating that I'd have to drop him. It would solve and prove it all once and for all. It'd also put a few bucks in my pocket. Tell me in your opinion why I shouldn't take that shot or why you wouldn't? I'd be my luck that it would be a hunting buddy screwing with me. I ain't scared of the dark but I would be walking out after seeing him and not dropping him.

Weasel6,
Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. Whether you should shot and kill this creature I suppose is up to you. As you know there are the ones that would kill one and those who would not.
I can understand the point on finally presenting proof, but I am still in debate on whether or not I would kill one. I have entertained offering a desent reward to spark interest in accually having some one provide the hard evidence, a body, but again it would more than likley be dead, and like you joked about, it would be just some ones luck that It end up being your friend, messing with you.
Don't get me wrong if I had to I would nail the thing dead on, If I had to.
I suppose I could have taken the creature when I saw it years back, but it was a very small window for any opportunity, and the fact that it resembles a human, casts the famous shadow of doubt.
I do belive that what I saw was real and not a human or any thing els friends and colleagues have implied.
In my life time I would like to see some concrete evidence? And would premote it, with restrictions.

Jred I didn't have a sighting I had a "smelling".Here in Florida where I hunt there is supposed to be a "Skunk Ape".One day while sitting in my tree stand I started to smell the damnest smell. At first I thought the wind had shifted and I was smelling something dead but damp but, could not discribe it.Short time later the smell just went away, then it hit me what if?!?!?I tried to look for tracks the next day but what ever it was I think it was on the other side of the river from us,thank God!At least I keep telling myself that.

Deerman, Thank you for your post! Ever since I saw this creature years ago I have been very intersed in it. I have checked out a ton of sites to gather information on it and have wanted to oranize a group my self and even offer and decent reward for proof of this thing, as I mentioned in a past post, I would really prefer it to be,alive.
I have heard of this, Skunk Ape, and read up on it. All in all when you emerge your self in exporing this topic the more you read they are all the same, they just have different names.
A good sight to check out is, Tennessee Bigfoot Lady. Pretty cool sight and has some good information.
For any members out there shareing this same interest to find out. Let me know, I would like to possibly set up a network.
THANKS AGAIN, to every one who has read and replied to my posting.
God bless! <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

This is for all of you skeptics out there.
It wasn't too long ago, I believe in the 70's where the Gorilla's of the rain forests were unknown to man. This gorilla was thought also to be a Big Foot. What's to say the gorilla isn't a Big Foot? Scientists gave the creature the same of Big Foot after we studied the creature. But the gorilla is a big monkey looking creature that can walk on two legs. Every day people are discovering new creatures that were never known to exist.
By the way, I do belive in them, not because I have seen one but because in this vast earth there could be many creatures that have not been discovered yet.

I also hunt in northern Wisconsin and have never seen a live or dead bear in the woods. What I did see though was a cougar... No one believed me but I seen it stalking young deer. (Story to follow) So could Bigfoot be there among other places.. YES!!! Just because it is rare to hear about sightings, does not mean it is not there.. Their numbers are obviously low and they must be a VERY smart and secretive creature.
Well, here the story. I was posted in a tree one evening last fall. There was about an hour left of shooting time when I had a group of does and their fawn cross about 30 to 40 yards behind me. THEY LOOKED Spooked. I assumed they were being trailed by a very horny buck so I watched the crossing a little closer. About 10 minutes later I seen brown movement behind some brush and thought it was the buck. But something was weird, it was lower to the ground then it should be. I watched intensely to get a good look at what it was but all I could see was flashes of muscular brown fir.
As the brown shadow approached a deadfall I got excited because I knew he would have to jump it as the does did, and give me a clear view of who he was. IT DID NOT, it went under it. As it passed under it the last thing I saw was a long tail. (Definitely not a deer) Then it briefly crossed an opening about 30 yards away. Just enough time to give me a view that it was a large CAT.
I went back after dark and told my brother in-laws about it and we all assumed it was a large Bobcat... Having never seen one in the wild I too assumed this because bobcats are occasionally sighted in our area and early in the morning you can hear them screaming.
About a year went by and I was at a Hunting Show in Madison. There was a live animal display. They had a Cougar in a cage right next to a Bobcat and I'll tell you what, I thought that cat was too big to be a Bobcat. I turned to the guy next to me and told him the story and he amazingly told me... There has been sighting and that they are moving into Wisconsin.. I almost S@!t a brick. Bobcats are one thing but Cougars could eat my a@@... Wish I had had my camera with me..
So to make a long story short, just because not many people see things and photos are rare doesn't mean Bigfoots are not there.
PS, send me that picture too Coyote

During this time while scaning, I saw a creature with my rifle scope that really spooked me.

And so is riding your four wheeler to your stand with out a helmet, give me break. Should I have had the hammer locked, my finger on the trigger and the safty off, I would then have to agree with you.
Your gun is only as safe as you use it.
Matter of oppinion.

Stone cold, Uncle buck and all who have placed your input, thank you! To the member that found it funny, I'm not to sure how you ment it,hopefully with good intentions?
As Bowfanatic mentioned in his statement, there seem to be other accounts of what I have heard of in, Huntsville AL. This is where my post originally originated, DEER & BIGFOOT!
To those who find this funny and crazy for any one to believe, I wasn't a person who put much thought to the exsistance of bigfoot untill I saw what I really believed to be one. And what I saw match what I hard only heard for years.
Have a open mind to the things your can't prove.
