hunting log
This is my 8th year bowhunting, and I was thinking on the way home from upnorth this past weekend of how much information i would have accumilated had i started a hunting log when i first started hunting. does anyone here use a hunting log? i was going to make one up on excel and use the following categories:
- Date
- Day (of the week)
- Location (as in which stand/land i was on)
- Time (that i entered and left the woods)
- Weather (temp and sky conditions, precipitation, etc)
- Wind
- Scent (doe in heat, etc)
- Deer Seen and desription (including how many in a group, from what direction they game, # of points, etc)
any other suggestions?

RE: hunting log
I think that's a good idea. More hunters and outdoors men should do so.
I take a small disposable camera with me on hunts as well. You never know what you will see that you may want to have a accual picture of to add to your log, i.e a location marker, rubs and scrapes, bedding areas or if bigfoot manages to walk through your area?
KEEP HUNTING THE GREAT OUTDOORS & GOD ALIVE, PASS IT ON!

I agree with you. I actually made a web site with one. You have to register to start your own, but you can check out mine to get an idea of what it looks like. http://www.mygearguide.com/main/cal_...al_name=mhearn
I haven't put up my stuff for October yet, so go back to september and you can see some stuff.
Hope you like it.

Once you register, simply go to Member Area -> Your Member Area. Once there, you will see a link that says Go to Your Outdoor Log. Click on that and away you go. Just click on a day of the month to add your trip info. Let me know if you have any more questions.

RE: hunting log
I have been keeping a log for the past 10 years and can't tell you how valuable it is. I can look up weather or dates or stand location and see just where deer where sighted and/or harvested under those conditions. The added bonus is, I can hand this down to my son and pass all the knowledge down. I can't think of a better way for my son to remember my by than my hunting journal. It shows Integrity, honesty, intelligence, and faith. There are worse things to leave behind. Good Luck!

When you get the nothing to report page, there should be a link just under that which says add. Click on that and it will bring up the add form. Try it and let me know.

RE: hunting log
Hey Mike from Texas,
Should be working now. Found a little problem with people that had spaces in their user names, but it should be working now. Thanks for trying it out.
