Default Hunting out of a blind

During Illinois's shotgun season, If you hunt out of a ground blind do you have to have a blaze orange cap on your blind. I know that ameristep makes one. Any of the illinois hunters in here know the rules?

Big gray area here Jake, the regulations say the hunter must wear the orange.

And by the way, any person involved in a deer drive, regardless of whether thay have afirearm in hand, is a hunter, and must have a license and the orange. Intresting bit that came up in hunter safety ed classes.

That is the way that I interpret it also...It never says that your blind must have orange...But something tells me the game warden would probably tell me otherwise

Call them and ask. I live in MI and don't have any orange on my blind. Nor do I wear orange when I'm in it. Sort of defeats the purpose of using a blind I think. I wear orange walking to an from my blind, even though it is no private property.

This is how a deer see's Blaze Orange

Deer are essentially red-green color blind like some humans. Their color vision is limited to the short (blue) and middle (green) wavelength colors.

Reb is correct. Right down to the deer looking at the hunter and the hunter not even knowing it! LOL

while using my blind last season i took orange survayors tape and wrapped it around a few trees that where close to my blind. i also attached several bo swatches taken from a old vest and used safety pins to attch them to the blind itself. those in my hunting party could see the bo with their eyes and if they used bino's could plainly see the blind itself
