RE: Favorite brand of gun??
No contest....Ruger. My Red Label over/under is devastating on the skeet field, points fast on grouse and when choked right with 6's over my Shorthairdumps pheasants like a sack of rocks. My 77M in -06 has been responsible for a proverbial herd of deer being packed into my freezer. Shots as close as 10 feet out to a measured 326 yards across the alfalfa field (Nosler ballistic tips are a wonderful thing.....). I have dropped it down a slide in the rocks of Wyoming, battered it hauling it up into treestands and bounced it around on way to many kamikaze quad rides - but the damn thing continues to shoot better than any other rifle I have ever owned. When I carry that rifle I know in my heart that ANY deer I see lives only because I make the choice not to harvest it.

Winchester Model 94 30-30 carries like a toy, yet does its job
Winchester Model 70 Classic .300 WSM--so far he likes it. Real good balance, accurate and a great safety system
Winchester Model 1200 pump--very reliable
Browning Citori Lightning Feather and awesome field gun and has been known to knock some clays
50 year old Beretta Golden Pigeon--this is a very well made and shooting o/u
All of these guns are outstanding and are more than what is required....as are most others

Alright I'll be the first to say Browning. Love my BPS, especially the ambi safety. I've shot the Gold Hunters before and like those too, but I've never been much of an auto fan. Also shot my dad's A-5 quite a bit but I've never really liked the humbback much.....he loves it, so I think it's personal preference with it. O/U's I can't say enough about (just don't like the price tags on them lol). Love them all except the 12ga. Lightning, and the 12ga Hunter models. Just don't feel comfortable with them. Also don't like the 525's b/c the euor pistol grip doesn't feel comfortable.

So got a few for remington. I am looking to buy a new rifle, i am stuck between the browning a-bolt stainless stalker and the remington 700 sps stainless. I just don't know if browning is worth the extra $400 dollars or not. Just like to see everyones opion (can't spell)
