ORIGINAL: 2eagles What about Remingtons reduced recoil loads to get used to your rifle? Jim |
RE: Need less recoil
Installing a new recoil pad can make a world of difference in felt recoil. I havea Sims Pre-fit and many Pachmayr grind to fit recoil pads, both do an excellent job at absorbing some of the jolt. Attached is a couple of links to both manufacturer's. Word of caution don't assume a pre-fit will fit your stock. If possible take your rifle to the shop and try the models suggested to see if indeed they will work for you. If not you can have a gunsmith put on a grind to fit model by either manufacturer for not a lot more (well at least up here that is).

RE: Need less recoil
The best thing I've found is the system made by BP-Technology (http://www.bp-tec.com/) With their product you get 35%-45% recoil reduction, the elimination of muzzle rise after a shot, and zero increase in noise. I have their prioduct on the .375 H&H I take to Africa. It shoots wonderfully for me (I'm 6-1 200) as well as for my son (who is 5-11 145) I can shoot it all day with no recoil issues. Read this link (http://www.bp-tec.com/recoil.htm) to see how it works, and if you want to see something amazing, watch this video (http://www.bp-tec.com/avi/allwmv.wmv) to see how it can completely eliminate muzzel rise, even on a full-auto M16!

RE: Need less recoil
Waketech, I live in Canada (Saskatchewan actually), so not sure it would help you any. Where are youfrom?
Most hunting stores carry Pachmayr and/or Sims prefit models. I printed off the templates for this rifle suggested by Sims and found one that would work, which I purchased loacally. BTWthe suggested pachmayr pre-fit for that rifle didn't even come close to fitting my stock, so likeI said just because they suggest it don't assume it will indeed fit your particular rifle. If you run intoa problem with the suggested prefits then take to a gunsmith and ask him to fit it with a grind to fit pachmayr decelerator recoil pad of your liking. I see sims also have a grind to fit but have no experience with this, but may be an option. Best of luck |
RE: Need less recoil
I have the prefit Pachmayers's on a couple of my guns. A world of difference IMO. As has been suggested already, Simms or Pachmayer.
