I actually have a nice diagram on how to build a nifty ladder stand from some 2x4s and plywood. I will see if I can scan it later and post it. Seems relatively simple to build.

I agree totaly. On your own property they are great. In a WMA I would prefer a climber. You can build a nice one for about 50 bucks.

Pistol Pete, NO I can not build a climber for 50 bucks. I can build a ladder stand for 50 bucks and that is using deck screws instead of nails. Mine is very solid. In a WMA area though I love my climber better. If I was on private property I would build them right in the tree where they aer safe and fewer squeaks.
