Default Do they need to move deer season back one month?

I live in north Alabama close to the Tennessee state line where you can start hunting Sept. 20th through Jan 31rst.... with ALL this heat ( globel warming ) do you think the season should be moved back a month? We have 80 degree weather in Sept and Oct.with humidity just as high, and 10 years ago the weather would be a lot cooler ... the weather is so mild in January now that we miss some of the rut becasue it happens late and goes into February... I would like to see the state move opening season back a month and extend the end of the season into February ...what is your opinion about your area?

yes i have been saying that from the start of last season. Its to hot and the rut starts late late in the season here. We usually miss the second rut all together due to it being hot untill min january. It didnt get cold here untill the last 2weekends of the season.

In Fl. they bring in the gun season for the Thanksgiving week, then close it and start again in the middle of Dec. to the end of Feb. That is what I would like to see in Al. , but it probably won't happen. You would think with the over population in most of Al. it would only help.

No clue. Really have no idea why they set the dates the way they do.

i dotn have many complaints about PAs season except that archery comes in oct.1-nov.12 which is unfortunate because the peak of the rut is usually around the 9th so just as it reallys starts to peak the season ends and gun dosnt coem in til the monday after thanksgiving, you really miss a big chunk of the rut

No , the rut is more dependant on hours of daylight(photoperiod) than on temperature . Most of the breeding takes place at night anyway .
