i'm working on making a gravity feeder that uses the same principles but i added a hopper on top. when i'm finished with it i'll post some pics. hopefully i'll finish it tomorrow. that's of couse if i start it...

I have done supplemental feeding for about 5 years now and have found that the plastic 55 gallon drums work best for me. I had pipe feeders but had problems with squirrels, coons and turkeys actually pull all the feed out of the feeders and waste alot. With the plastic drums they at least sit in them when they eat. It only takes a couple of 2x4s a couple of 1x8s and 1 8 ft piece of tin to build a shelter over the drum. It is much easier to fill then the pipe feeders and will hold 125lbs of food.

Make a bucket feeder . Keeps it dry and keeps the coons out . What ever you choose to hang out of it make the hole 1/2" larger . When the deer move the stick around the feed will fall out . You will be surprised on how long a 50 lb bag of corn will last you .

We have evolved from buckets to homemade gravity feeders to timer feeders made from Kenco timers on galvinized garbage cans on tripods with winches and cages to deter the raccoons. We like to control exactly how much corn we feed.(How much corn we end up buying.) Deer sure can eat a lot of corn.

Just clicked on your link and see you have a trail camera section . Glad to see you gave Eagle Eye a high mark . They make a great unit , Jeff sure does alot of R&D .
