Default RE: camera equipment

I would recommend the following equipment:

Sony PD-170 Camera
Steinhauser Wireless Mics
Monfrotto 501 or 201 Camera Head
A camera arm - working on my own design
Monfrotto or Verizoom controller

The above equipment package is going to run you between $3000-4,500.00.

Yeah - I know - it's not cheap, but the above is what it really takes to take good footage, with good audio.

If you want to start with the absolute bare minimum, a Canon GL-2, Zoom Controller, Bogan 201 head, and a camera arm are the minimum you need to take quality footage. You can get started with this package for around $1,800.00 (used).

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Todd was right with the equipment but also practice practice practice with it. You need to be an expert before the season because things happen fast in the tree, and I still have not been able to get a retake with a deer yet. Trust me I have missed some very cool stuff.

I'll be making a formal announcement when I know more. Thinking sometime in June - here in Iowa...

Aaron and I just officially got a PD 170. The past 2 seasons weve used a GL1 and GL2 but now to learn the PD170 functions. Hope to see all fellow WKP team mates at the video school at Todds.

Maybe I should wait for the official announcement, but who would be teaching this class? I can hardly imagine that the WKP crew, after only two productions is ready to teach us all how it should or could be done, but maybe you have a professional coming in to teach the classthan I would def. be interested. I guess Ill just wait for the official announcement.
