Locked Bucks Found - Pics...
Sad to find out a couple bucks were found dead near one of the properties I hunt. One of the bucks is a buck we nick-named "spurs" - the one with kickers on his G-2's. We have footage of the buck from two different encounters and Tyler had passed the buck at like 10 yards (camera was screwing up - so he didn't get footage). Just a heart-breaker to loose one of the bucks I was still hunting until I found out about this yesterday. Sucks....

Sorry to see that. Nature played its course. These warriors were trying to establish their dominance. That's all a part of that survival of the fittest/preservation of their species thing. They must have died recently. They do not look torn up(predators/scavengers).

Unfortunately a big time tresspasser found them first. He found them on the neighboring ground and surprisingly called the DNR. Spurs was dead but the other buck was still alive. The DNR officer put the other one down himself and issued a salvage tag.
I had Spurs just about under my tree this year and he was a beautiful buck. I actually buck roared him in at first light and he came in w/ a purpose. He then stopped broadside at 10 yds and sensed something was up and looked at me and my cameraman and ran down hill about 70yds. Then he did the loudest buck roar back to me that I have ever heard. It was a great experience with this deer this year and I'm sad to see him dead. Like Todd said I didn't get it on film because the camera I was using wouldn't operate in under 40 degree weather this year. Didn't figure this out till we were 8 days into our hunt. So not alot of rut footage from me this year.
Just hate the fact that this guy found them. Wouldn't surprise me if he tried to sell them as locked bucks.
Here is trail cam pic I have of him.
