Well, we got lucky and got drawn for wy elk hunt this fall. We're looking at hunting the snowy range west of Laramie, would like to know if this area is a no off road vehicle area.
Have been looking at topos and aerials looking for a likely place to plan our hunt and this question came up.
Thanks

May I ask what area you have drawn? 10,11,12, some other. As far as I know 10, 11, and 12 have good vehicle access. My uncle got a spike two years ago and a 6 point last year in area 11. I went up there last year, and spent a good amount of time driving around the whole area from I-80 to Wyoming route 130 (or something like that, the one that goes from Laramie to Saratoga.) There is good vehicle acces throughout. I do know there is some wilderness up on top, which would require a guide for a nonresident anyway. But you should easily be able to see some elk, and have a shot at one. Also what type did you draw? 1 or 2?
